Stacy & Andy’s Wedding: Military meets Kebaya chic

Cool-artsy girl meets Army captain. He falls in love as she brings music into his life – that’s Andy’s version in his speech made on his wedding day, and its sweeeettt.
Stacy’s works in the arts industry so its apt they picked the Arts House for their Malay wedding. Check out the details that went along with the flower decor – childhood story books – likes of Charles Dickens and Roald Dahl (fav!), stacked under small glass vases, like what Alice in Wonderland would have done for her own tea party.

The highlight, after the groom strummed on his guitar, was when the Bride herself sang a song – Katy Perry’s Fireworks – she’s got a voice! We wished she could have sang a few more:)

Congratulations Stacy & Andy!

Kristy & Mikael: Light & Love in Dempsey

She went to Shanghai presumably to brush-up on Mandarin but months later, Kristy’s dad got a call from saying she was in Paris. How his daughter found road from China to Paris was a mystery, but Mr Fong says, it all came to light years later when Frenchman Mikael was formally introduced to the family and decided to resettle in Singapore for the love of his life.

For a pair who’d been flying across continents every few months to date each other over a few years, this is testimony that long-distance relationships can work out, I vouch for that!

Above all, I love this wedding! All the details, the venues, the guests, and just how unassuming and simple the bride and groom were.:)
Thanks Kristy & Mikael, for your 100% trust in allowing me to photograph your day.

Wedding: Johnson & Stephanie

It’s the most car-studded wedding I’ve ever witnessed and photographed – a Bentley, 3 Ferraris, 3 Porsche GT3s, an Audi R8, a RR, a RRS formed the car entourage. Wow.

My task here was to document the groom’s perspective, while Wansheng from Feldberyl covered the bride’s side on the morning of the wedding. Really enjoyed working as a team and learning from Wansheng! Everything was planned to precision by the team from the Wedding Concierge, headed by Kim. Kudos!

Shuyi and Matthias’ Wedding, Raffles Hotel

Matthias’ childhood was spent in a town near Frankfurt, where traditional dances are a thing at weddings. So the spirited couple imported this german dance and invited their guests to join in at the wedding at Raffles Hotel.

Good to see older relatives enjoying themselves and moving their butts!

Enjoy the pics!

In the Pentillie Castle: A Cornwall wedding

A wedding should be an intimate affair, witnessed by the ones you love, celebrated by those who truly care for you. It’s a cosy gathering, a reunion, and a heartfelt one.
I’ve always held these views of what a wedding should be. And a little earlier this year, Mad and I had the privilege to attend as guests, the magical celebration of Kay Yin and Adam at the Pentillie castle estate in Cornwall, in the UK.

We flew to London and from there hired a car to Cornwall, taking the opportunity for a quick getaway. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay as long as we had hoped, but more of that in another post!

Kay Yin, my NCC platoonmate from secondary school days, had a most romantic solemnization, planned single-handedly by Adam. There ceremony was held within the old stone walls of a bathing hut by the Tamar River, within the estate of the castle. A wedding singer on strumming on his guitar, singing Chasing cars by Snow Petrol and songs of Jason Marz echoed within the old stone walls, the weather 14 degrees.. witnessing Adam read his personal vows to his bride, and Kay Yin nodding to Adam… It was a perfect day, in every way:)

The gorgeous married couple!:)
A kiss from the solemnizer, I loved how she conducted the ceremony in such a pristine fashion, her heavy British accent, almost Harry Potter like.

Sunshine after the rain: pre-wedding sneak

The weather lately has been rather gloomy, with with the haze and thunderstorms. Up till last night I was wondering how today’s photos would turn out, and how to make the best of the situation, because a rainy day can bring lots of interesting, unexpected images!
But the rain cleared up in time for Grace & Ted’s pre-wedding photos this morning, so we didn’t have to deal with that.

We’re taking a break in-between the shoot right now, here are some images that were shot earlier.

St George’s Church

Before restaurants and bars dominated Dempsey, I used to like to explore the old buildings, the small chapel/memorial for a boy, that is today the White Rabbit restaurant, and also the church along Harding Road.
So to be able to photograph a wedding in St Georges’ Church, was most pleasurable. There are many things about this building that gives it character and texture – The bricks, the arches, cross-stitched pillows, everything is authentic and has a sense of time.

A sneak of Kristy and Mikael’s church wedding, and more to come…
