Sunshine after the rain: pre-wedding sneak

The weather lately has been rather gloomy, with with the haze and thunderstorms. Up till last night I was wondering how today’s photos would turn out, and how to make the best of the situation, because a rainy day can bring lots of interesting, unexpected images!
But the rain cleared up in time for Grace & Ted’s pre-wedding photos this morning, so we didn’t have to deal with that.

We’re taking a break in-between the shoot right now, here are some images that were shot earlier.

Angkor getaway

I’m taking a semi-break in Siem Reap till next week, working half-days everyday. Great to be on temporary semi-retirement, relocating office to homely Bopha Angkor hotel! hah!

A Paris pre-wedding

Paris has a magical light. Everywhere the camera points, the streets have got a hint of antiquity and a bit of a song.
This is the second leg of Tawi and Sonia’s pre-wedding shoot. (I’m working backwards so the first leg, in London, will be posted later).
The winter this year turned out to be colder than the predictions of previous years and I was rather worried how this would affect us. We were so lucky to have the sun shining that day. Temperature was about 9 degrees though and the wind was a killer. Kudos to Sonia for braving the elements!

Why not make use of the wind who invited itself to our shoot? From foe to friend =)

A sweet song of love…

I’d not envisioned as many black-and-whites but it post-processing decided to ditch some colours to focus on the couple.

Love the details on Sonia’s dress that has a ‘cloudy’ train.

Fishes in love

This was a shoot I’d been waiting for ever since meeting Kelvin and Ailin. Instead of a traditional pre-wedding shoot, they wanted to do family shoots for their album. When we were brainstorming locations, I got all excited and hyper. Kelvin and Ailin really did their homework, scouting around different prawn fishing farms in Singapore until they finally found this one. Super Rustic, Super Singapore in the 1980s, I just Love it!

By the time we arrived at our first location, storm was brewing. Atypical by last weeks’ standard. The wind almost, at once, ruined Eileen’s hair, I had mind to call off the shoot but we knew we didn’t have another date where both parties could make it. I decided to give it a go, let’s see how different the pictures can get. Alas, some rain, then drizzle, then clear skies.
